Fremantle is a transport hub for the region and the train station is the depot for both buses and trains that regularly depart north to Perth CBD and south to Rockingham and Mandurah.

Ticket prices are determined by the length of the journey. Train and ferry fares must be purchased prior to travel at the ticket vending machines while bus fares can be paid when boarding.

Visit Transperth website to plan a journey or phone the Transperth Infoline on 13 62 13.

The easiest way to get around Fremantle is to use the Fremantle CAT. The route covers all the destinations around Fremantle  including the Woolstores, stopping right outside our Cantonment Street entrance. The CAT runs seven days a week, every 10 minutes between 7:30am and 6:30pm on weekdays and 10:00am to 6:30pm on weekends and public holidays.

The Fremantle CAT (Central Area Transit) is a free bus service that operates around the Fremantle central business district. The blue CAT services depart every 10 minutes and the red CAT services depart every 15 minutes.

Both services run seven days a week, including public holidays except Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The service operates during these times:

  • Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 6.30 pm
  • Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 10 am to 6.30 pm.

The Fremantle CAT buses are easily accessible with kneeling actions – a driver activated entry ramp and low floor.  To board, simply wait at any CAT stop – they’re all shown on the Fremantle CAT bus map and timetable.

You can catch a ferry from the Barrack Street Jetty in Perth and see the sights from the Swan River as you cruise into Fremantle.
